Your Private Beach
Spend the day with your feet in the sand on your own private beach at Big Water Beach House. The beach is equipped with Adirondack chairs, umbrellas, a fire pit, youth kickboards, 4 paddleboards, 2 double kayaks, 4 single kayaks, lifejackets, water toys, beach games, beach towels, and sandcastle beach toys, plus carts and totes to transport your personal items to and from the beach house.
Bass Lake
Bass Lake is just around the corner where you will find boat rentals, water sports, and access to hiking trails. A 10 minute walk North up the beach will lead you to a hidden gem at the Bass Lake Outlet, where a small river empties from Bass Lake into Lake Michigan. There are trails up the massive sand dunes that provide amazing vistas of the lake. Its the perfect place to take the family for a picnic lunch.
Mears State Park
Mears State Park is a beautiful public beach with concession stand and playgrounds located just a few miles South in Pentwater. You can see Mears Beach and the Pierheads that line the channel to Pentwater Lake from Big Water Beach House, but be warned, it is an 1:10 minute walk down the beach, so we recommend driving.
Ludington State Park
Ludington State Park features 7 miles of sandy shoreline on Lake Michigan and boarders Lake Hamlin on its East side. Enjoy hiking on over 21 miles of marked trails or climb to the top of the iconic Big Sable Point Lighthouse, a 1.8 mile walk North from the state park, up the sandy shore of Lake Michigan. Be sure to visit the Historic White Pine Village on your drive back to the beach house!
Silver Lake Dunes
Visit these epic dunes occupying 26 miles of Lake Michigan shoreline and take a dune buggy ride through Silver Lake State Park, located 26 minutes south of Big Water Beach House. There are also amazing beaches and designated pedestrian areas. Just south of the dunes, you will find Little Sable Point Lighthouse, which is open seasonally for daily tours.
